
Lee Gaudette

Lee Gaudette is the President and Treasurer of Gaudette Insurance Agency, Inc. He is the third generation to own and operate the family business, which was founded in 1926 by his great-uncle, Roy Gaudette. Lee joined the agency in 1990 starting as a commercial account executive. He became the sales manager in 1996, vice-president of sales in 1997 and president of the agency in 1999. He acquired ownership of the agency in 2003. Over the years since he became president, Lee has led the Agency to more than quintuple in size. In 2019, Lee Gaudette was awarded the highest honor by Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA), the Henry F Barry, Jr. Memorial Pacesetter Award. The Pacesetter Award recognizes an independent agent for outstanding leadership and service to the agency community and the public. Lee commented, “I’m humbled to be included among the lions of the Massachusetts independent insurance agents – particularly to join my first boss and mentor, Dennis F. Murphy, Jr. (1998) and most especially to achieve the first ever father son tandem following Gerry Gaudette, Jr. (1988)”. In 2023, the Agency was recognized by MAIA by earning their “Five Star Award” for the fifth time. Less than forty out of over one thousand agencies in Massachusetts have earned this distinction. The Agency was also recognized by its national trade association, IIABA, as a Best Practices Agency for nine years between 2001 and 2009. As a Best Practices Agency, Gaudette Insurance was among the top thirty performing agencies nationwide in its size group. Lee is active in the community, having volunteered for or been elected or appointed to a wide variety of roles. He recently led the Whitinsville Christian School as President. He is the past Chairman of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce. He is one of the founders of the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation. In 1995, he was elected Trustee of the Milford Regional Medical Center. Lee serves as corporator of American Red Cross of Central Mass., Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Milford Regional Medical Center, Unibank for Savings, Whitin Community Center and Whitinsville Social Library. Gaudette also volunteers with insurance industry organizations. He chaired the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents in 2016 and continues serving as a director of MAIA’s subsidiary agency and chairs its Investment Committee. He is also the Treasurer of the Bay State Independent Insurance Agents Assoc & its subsidiaries, including a captive insurer. Lee graduated with honors from Worcester Academy, earned a Bachelors Degree from Tufts University and an MBA from Babson with highest honors. In his spare time, Lee enjoys cycling, boating, stamp collecting and crushing tee shots deep and right into the woods at Whitinsville Golf Club. He grew up and still lives in Whitinsville with his wife, Dina. They have raised four emerging adults: Nicole, Caroline, Peter and Bobby.
