Claims Made Coverage – How Does It Work?

This course covers the most important concepts to understand when writing claims-made coverage. We will discuss the coverage trigger, including the retroactive date, extended reporting period, and prior and pending litigation and continuity dates. We will review some common coverage features of policies written on a claims-made basis including defense provisions and consent to settle clauses. Lastly, we will discuss the importance of the policy application.
